Make a Music Video from Your Song

Make a Music Video reads your song's parts and bars and gives every part its own shot, drawn by our 44 visualizer engines, the drawing-engine scenes and your own pictures. Choruses share a look, drops hit with a flash, builds push in, and quiet parts crossfade. It opens as a page, and as a tool inside Classic and Studio (Tools, then Make a Music Video).

1. Choose the song

1. Pick This project (inside Classic), Free music, or A file from your device. The song never leaves your device.
2. Wait a few seconds while its parts and bars are found. A song with no steady beat is cut on a steady grid instead.

2. Pick a style and a palette

A style is a mood, a palette and a pacing that belong together. The mood words steer which shots are picked, so edit them to steer it further. The palette's first colour is the main one and the last is the dark one behind everything.

3. Frame shape

Landscape 16:9 for YouTube, vertical 9:16 for Shorts, Reels, TikTok and Spotify Canvas, square or 4:5 for feeds. Every shot is built for the shape you pick, never cropped.

4. Pacing

• Calm: one shot per part of the song.
• Standard: a new shot every 8 bars, every 4 on the loud parts.
• Fast: a cut every bar or two on the loud parts.

5. Lyrics

1. Paste the words, one line per line. An LRC or SRT file's text is already timed and is kept as it is.
2. Press Spread over the singing to place each line on a bar line over the sung parts, or Tap to time: the song plays and you tap (or press the space bar) as each line starts.
3. Choose a Lyric style, or No lyrics on screen.

6. Title, artist and your pictures

Type the song's title and the artist: they open the video and close it in the credits. Add your own photos and video clips under Your pictures and footage; the photo and footage shots use them, and a clip's own sound stays off so the song is the video's sound.

Select a video clip on the canvas after Build to set its Trim in, Trim out, Speed and whether it loops or holds its last frame. The preview and the export show the same frame.

7. Kinds of shots and Build

Untick a kind of shot (drawing-engine scenes, moving pictures and footage, visualizers) to leave it out. The storyboard on the left already shows the shots Build will make; Shuffle shots picks others for the same settings. Press Build: in Classic the shots land on the Timeline and the Timeline opens; on the page, Classic opens with the video in it.

8. The storyboard

• Under the Timeline, the Storyboard shows one card per shot. Click a card to select that shot everywhere.
• Swap picks another shot from a shelf; its lyrics stay. The circle rebuilds it with a new seed. The lock keeps it through every rebuild.
• The arrows move a shot earlier or later inside its part of the song: the pictures move, the cuts stay on the bars.
• Pacing, Shape and the palette at the top rebuild every unlocked shot from the same recipes and seeds.

9. Export and cut-downs

• The whole video exports from Classic's Export, in any shape, up to 4K where your device can.
• Under the storyboard, Cut-downs rebuilds the video at 9:16 from the same shots: the Vertical video, a Spotify Canvas loop (3 to 8 seconds, snapped to whole bars from the chorus, with a seam score and a still) and a Clips / Shorts hook (15 to 30 seconds from the chorus).
• Release pack downloads them together in one ZIP with the lyrics and the storyboard. Every export has a Cancel button.
