Connect Claude or another AI assistant (MCP)

Sonic Weaver runs an MCP server. An AI assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol, such as Claude, can use it to search our public catalogue and docs, plan a job with SW Agent and open our editors and workspaces already set up. It is free and read-only: there is no account, no key and no sign-up, because everything it reads is already public on this site.

Add a new MCP server of the HTTP type with this address: https://sonicweaver.com/mcp. The name is yours to choose; the address is the part that matters. The MCP server page shows the block of settings most assistants take.

The address answers one stateless POST, JSON-RPC over HTTP, protocol revision 2026-07-28. Opening it in a browser answers an error on purpose: it is for assistants, and the MCP server page is the one for people.

Each of these is a tool the assistant calls by name. The MCP server page lists every tool with its description.

• Find a look from a description and read its modes and controls: find_engine and get_engine.
• Build a link that opens Classic or Studio with the look, frame shape, song title and more already set: build_editor_setup.
• Open any workspace with its settings already applied: open_workspace, with list_editor_workspaces to list them.
• Find free music, loops, sound effects, backgrounds and photos, with whether each needs a credit: find_assets and get_asset.
• Ask SW Agent what it would do: ask_sw_agent returns the function or chain it would run, its steps, what it read from the message and links that open it ready to run.
• Search our docs: search_help.
• Exact maths with units, such as bars at a tempo in seconds: calculate. SW Agent's creator apps: run_creator_app. Every edit SW Agent can make in the editor: list_editor_commands.

search_help searches the same index SW Agent answers from: every help article, FAQ answer, glossary term, tutorial, blog post, tool guide, engine page and release note. It returns up to two quotes, word for word, with links to the exact section and the pages to read more, or says the docs do not answer it; it never makes up an answer. Words in double quotes are exact: only pages that hold them word for word answer, and each quote shows where they are.

It cannot render, preview, record or export a video. Every look runs in your own browser tab, on audio you chose, and nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing on our side to render with. It returns links instead, and a browser, yours or an AI browser, does the work on the page. Your saved projects, community posts and account are never reachable through it, and nothing runs on our side when SW Agent plans a job for an assistant.
