SW Agent's worker jobs
Run a chain or an export as a job: it works in a queue on your device while you keep chatting, shows its progress, can be cancelled and keeps what it made.
Describes Sonic Weaver v5.20, released .
What a job is
A job is one of SW Agent's chains, or an export, put in a queue instead of run in the chat. It runs the same steps with the same tools the chat would, so a job does exactly what running the chain step by step does, while you keep asking SW Agent other things.
Starting one
In the Chains panel press Run as a job, or add "as a job" or "in the background" to a message, for example "make a release thumbnail set from this picture as a job". After SW Agent says how long an export will take, Or run it as a job renders it in the queue.
Following and stopping it
Jobs (beside the chat on SW Agent's page, or a view of the SW Agent tab in Classic and Studio) lists each job with its steps as the chain's graph and, for an export, a progress bar. Jobs run one at a time in the order you queued them, on your own device. Cancel a waiting job and it never starts; cancel a running one and it stops before its next step (an export stops at once, after asking).
While a job works
The chat still answers help questions, finds looks and songs and remembers things. Anything that would use a workspace while the job is using one waits its turn in the queue, and the chat says so.
What it keeps
A finished job's files wait in Jobs with Download buttons until you close the tab, and the job is kept in SW Agent's history with its steps, the projects it made and its files by name. Signed in, that history is on your account; signed out, on this device.
