Make an Optical Illusion Music Visualizer

Optical Illusions draws six classic illusions from the published principles behind them and ties each to your music in the way that shows it off best.

• Rotating Snakes: wheels that seem to turn while they stand still. The illusion fades in as the track builds, and the wheels step round on the beat.
• Endless Stairs: a climber takes one step a beat up a staircase that loops back on itself.
• Hypnotic Spiral: an endless spiral that surges inward on every beat and pours faster as the song builds.
• Fraser Spiral: cords that read as one spiral untwist in the loud sections to show they were circles all along.
• Moiré Waves: two fine ring patterns whose interference sweeps broad waves across the frame.
• Phantom Chaser: watch the centre, and a phantom disc runs round as the gap moves on the beat.

Tune it

Open a mode in the editor and look for the Illusion group: Illusion strength sets how strong the effect is, Pattern scale sets the size of the pattern, and Motes adds slow points of light that the highs catch. Speed sets the pace and keeps each step on the beat, and Beat shake jolts the subject, never the whole frame.
