Mythological Creatures

Creatures of myth in their own realms, drawn with code and alive to your song: a dragon breathing fire on a volcano, Medusa with a snake of her hair for every band of the music, the phoenix bursting into flame over a sun temple, the kraken rising from a storm, Fenrir breaking his chains and more, grouped by the myths they come from. Every layer of the realm moves, each power answers its own part of the song and on every phrase the creature unleashes it. Its realm, in flight, by moonlight, in a storm, close up, guarding its ruins and seen in a hero's bronze shield.

Launch modes

Mythic Realm mode

Mythic Realm

The creature in its own realm: it breathes, looks about and stirs its wings on the beat, and on every phrase of the song it unleashes its power, fire, frost, lightning or foxfire. Clouds drift, light sweeps the far peaks and embers, mist or snow drift past.

On the Wing mode

On the Wing

The creature on the move: the winged ones fly with their wings beating to the song, the others gallop, slither or swim, while the realm streams past in layers, the near plants fastest and the far peaks barely at all. The loop closes.

Moonlit Legend mode

Moonlit Legend

The same realm at night: the moon, stars that twinkle with the high notes, the creature's eyes and power glowing in the dark. Calm enough for talk and late sets.

Summon the Storm mode

Summon the Storm

The creature calls up the storm: the song's energy drives the wind and the weather, lightning comes on the big moments and the creature roars into it with its power.

Legend Portrait mode

Legend Portrait

Close up: the creature's head and shoulders fill the frame, every breath, blink, horn and feather on the music, its power flaring on the phrase and its realm soft behind it.

The Guardian mode

The Guardian

The creature guards the ruins of its realm: braziers flare on the beat, runes on the old stones glow with the highs, gold glints in the dark, and on every phrase the guardian rises and shows its power.

Mirror Shield mode

Mirror Shield

The creature as a hero sees it, in a polished bronze shield, the way Perseus looked on Medusa: its realm mirrored in the bronze, every layer still moving with the song, the dark of the cave round it and a glint running round the rim on the beat.

Spectrum rangeHow much of the 40 Hz to 14 kHz range the visual spans, from the bass up. Lower it to give the bass and mids more of the barsAudiorange1YesNo
Frequency scaleHow the bars are spread across the frequencies. Log spreads them by octave, mel by how pitch is heard, and linear by hertz, which gives most bars to the highsAudioselectlogNoNo

Mythic powerHow big the creature's power is: the dragon's fire, the wyvern's frost, the storm bird's lightning, Medusa's gaze. Between the phrases each power answers its own part of the song (fire the kick, lightning the snare); the song's big moments lift itCreaturerange1YesYes
