Constellations

Every constellation in the sky and the star patterns people know by name, from real star charts, made to move with your song: a night sky where the figure draws itself a line on every beat, its lines of light in a nebula, a planetarium dome, a telescope eyepiece hopping from star to star, a printed star chart and a card for your star sign.

Launch modes

Night Sky mode

Night Sky

The constellation in a clear night sky over the hills: its lines draw themselves one on every beat, its real stars twinkle with the part of the song their colour answers, the Milky Way glows and a shooting star crosses on the big moments.

Star Lore mode

Star Lore

The figure drawn in lines of light inside a glowing nebula, the way the old star atlases drew their heroes and beasts: comets run along its lines on the beat and its aura breathes with the bass.

Planetarium Dome mode

Planetarium Dome

The sky on a planetarium dome over rows of seats: the dome sways slowly as the projector turns the stars, its grid glows, the lights round its rim answer the spectrum and the figure lights a line on every beat.

Telescope Eyepiece mode

Telescope Eyepiece

Through the eyepiece: the view hops from star to star along the figure, one a bar, with the crosshairs on each and its name, brightness and place in the sky read out beside it. Bright stars throw diffraction spikes and the focus breathes with the bass.

Star Chart mode

Star Chart

A printed star chart: the real stars inked by brightness on a grid of right ascension and declination, their Greek letters beside them, and a pen tracing the figure a line on every beat, the stars it reaches ringing as it goes.

Star Sign Card mode

Star Sign Card

A card for a star sign or a night to remember: the figure in gold inside an art deco frame, its name in capitals and your own line under it, sparkles round the frame on the beat and a sheen of foil across it on the big moments.

Spectrum rangeHow much of the 40 Hz to 14 kHz range the visual spans, from the bass up. Lower it to give the bass and mids more of the barsAudiorange1YesNo
Frequency scaleHow the bars are spread across the frequencies. Log spreads them by octave, mel by how pitch is heard, and linear by hertz, which gives most bars to the highsAudioselectlogNoNo
Auto-levelLifts every part of the spectrum to its own recent range, so quiet highs move as much as loud bass. A note held for several seconds settles lower as it adapts. 0 shows the raw spectrumAudiorange0.8YesNo
